The inaugural awards / 2027
A place on the list recognizes your growth. Awards recognize the honorees leading their growth track, sales channel or product category.
Growth-track winners
The highest-ranked honoree in the established-company track, measured by percentage revenue growth across comparable FY2023 and FY2026 figures.
The highest-ranked honoree in the Breakout Brands track for qualifying younger companies, measured by growth in the most recent six months compared with the preceding six months.
The tracks use different reporting periods and have separate winners. Six-month and three-year growth scores are not combined into one competition. Read the ranking methodology.
Planned channel awards
Recognizes a leading honoree whose business is focused on direct-to-consumer sales through its own stores and websites.
Recognizes a leading honoree whose business is focused on Amazon, including its U.S. and international marketplaces.
An emerging-channel award for a honoree showing exceptional sales momentum on TikTok Shop. TikTok does not need to be the brand’s largest source of revenue.
This award recognizes progress on a channel. It is separate from the Breakout Brands track for younger companies.
Final channel eligibility, measurement periods and judging criteria will be published before judging begins. Applicants may be asked for additional channel data to support award consideration.
Planned product-category awards
We plan to name a Category Brand of the Year in the strongest four or five product categories. The starting categories for the inaugural edition are:
Including supplements.
Beauty, skincare and personal care.
Home, kitchen and household products.
Products for pets and their owners.
Baby and children’s products.
One winner is planned for each confirmed category. Categories are reviewed each year and may be added, combined or deferred based on the number and mix of qualified entries.
A meaningful comparison needs enough eligible brands. Final categories, category definitions and minimum eligible entry counts will be published before judging begins.
How winners are chosen
Award winners are selected from eligible Consumer 300 honorees. The list recognizes up to 300 brands; awards recognize a smaller group within it.
Growth-track awards follow the final ranking within each track. Channel and product-category awards are separate distinctions, selected using criteria and comparable measurement periods published in advance. They do not change the overall ranking.
The Independent Council advises on close calls under published rules and requires conflicted members to step out. The accounting partner checks revenue evidence. Finalists may be asked to substantiate channel or category information. Baseline evidence checks and the deeper-review requirement for the highest-ranked quartile apply.
Winners will be recognized through Consumer 300 and celebrated at the gala. An award cannot be purchased through sponsorship or attendance. Winners receive recognition whether or not they buy a gala ticket. MDS membership, application fees and verification purchases add no judging points.
These are the planned award groups for the inaugural edition. Final categories and criteria will be confirmed before judging. No award winners have been announced. Read the independence and evidence standards.
